Summer is in full swing! Time flies and it's already August, the middle of summer!
The illustration next to Fresher Panda, who welcomes guests at the front desk, has also been updated to the August illustration!!
As I mentioned earlier, August means summer is in full swing!
This is just my personal opinion, but when it comes to summer, many people think of the sea and mountains, but the first thing that comes to mind is sunflowers, so I decided to draw sunflowers this time.
Speaking of sunflowers, they are often used to describe something very positive because they always face the sun.
Also, sunflowers are a seasonal word for summer, so I personally think they are a suitable subject to use in an illustration for August, when summer is in full swing.
When you think of sunflowers, you think of those big yellow flowers, but compared to other plants, the seeds themselves are also probably very familiar to you, aren't they?
It's a cute black and white species!
Actually, I had a hamster as a pet when I was a child.
I also feed my hamsters sunflower seeds.
When you think of Hamtaro, you probably have the image of a hamster eating sunflower seeds, right?
By the way, it is well known that hamsters eat sunflower seeds, but did you know that humans have also been eating sunflowers for a long time?
In the past, there was a time in Europe when it was forbidden to eat fatty foods for religious reasons, but the church did not know that oil could be extracted from sunflowers, or that sunflower seeds could be made edible by roasting them, so sunflowers were a valuable food source for the people.
Also, when you think of sunflowers, many people probably think of Van Gogh's paintings.
Van Gogh is said to have painted seven sunflower paintings, of which six survive.
One of the pieces is in the collection of the Sompo Museum of Art in Tokyo, so if you're interested, why not go and see it?
...I've gone off topic a bit, but it's already August.
Please be careful to avoid heatstroke and dehydration.
