The other day, I went to another live show!
This time, we have a famous American jazz guitarist.

Last time I saw Pat Metheny perform live at the Blue Note Tokyo...it was amazing.
First of all, the band members this time were a big hit for me!
The drums and bass were amazing, and the sax was really cool.
And then there's Mike Stern, who I've been listening to a lot since my student days.
This time, I got to see Mike Stern live and I was so excited!
The "King of Modern Jazz" known to all jazz fans.
Mike Stern gained attention as a member of Miles Davis' band.
Mike Stern now has a slim silhouette, but when he first began to gain attention he was a relatively unknown, large-bodied jazz guitarist.
I'm sure when you first saw him in the Miles Davis band, you wondered, "Who is that big guitarist?"
And when he played, I'm sure everyone was like, "Who is that insanely cool guitarist?" lol
First of all, the band members this time were a big hit for me!

Mike Stern is performing in a musical group with his wife, Lenni Stern, who is also a guitarist and singer.
They looked happy and smiled at each other while playing, and I felt they were a very loving couple.
Mike Stern is 71 years old, but his skills have not diminished at all.
It was a great performance.

However, the fact remains that "his skills have not weakened."
It takes a tremendous amount of effort.
The reason is that Mike Stern lost the use of his right arm in an accident in 2016.
After that, after intensive rehabilitation, he was finally able to return to playing, including using double-sided tape to attach the pick to his finger.
Once you lose the freedom of your right arm, it must be an unimaginable despair.
And then relentless rehabilitation.
I honestly respect that.
It takes a tremendous amount of effort.
