In Kamakura, festivals become more popular in autumn.
The Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine's annual festival will be held from September 14th to 16th.
The Yoimiya Festival is held from 6:00 p.m. on the first day, September 14th, and a ceremony is held to report to the Great God that the annual festival will be held the following day.
A local school choir will be held from 4pm, and a Japanese drum performance will be held from 7pm.
On the second day, September 15th, the annual festival will be held from 10:00, and the Shinko Festival will be held from 13:00, with a portable shrine procession departing from the shrine grounds and parading around Dankazura.
On the third day, September 16th, the Kaburaryuma ritual will be held from 1:00 p.m.
I've seen it once before, and the time it takes to run through it just flies by.
The sight of the rider and horse becoming one and racing through the gaps between targets is very tense and impressive.
I still remember the cheers and excitement when I hit the target.
As the event will be held during the day, please be sure to stay hydrated and take precautions against heatstroke (; ・`д・´)
If you have the opportunity, I hope you will visit us!
If you are planning to come on this date, please allow yourself plenty of time as road congestion is expected.
We recommend using public transportation.
